As Krizia says, the mindset is crucial. The mindset of making money is great to have…as long as you don’t go overboard with HOW you monetize your blog.
You must look at your blog as a business and part of that business is sharing your knowledge, providing great advice and building relationships with your visitors. That takes a lot of effort, energy and time.
If you have picked the right niche, then the income will follow.

Great interview as always Michelle! A blog can be a few things, but mainly a fun thing, or a business built around a blog. That’s not to say they can’t be both though! I think a plan is needed if you want to make money as to how you’re actually going to do it and whether it’s feasible or not for what you want to achieve.

Great interview. I think much of the advice also applies to men. Deciding to make money from a blog (or anything) means you need to adapt a business mentality. For example, keep receipts on things like printer ink – wherever you live you will have to start paying tax when your blog becomes profitable!
Michelle, hats off – your interview skills are fab. Of course, you interview a fab person, too. It’s alive, authentic, paced just right, informative. Totally agree with Krizia’s basic message – mindset. The term itself says it, “mind.set”. Like any set – TV or radio set – it comes with a tuning button. If not tuned right, one’s mind risks to be getting the wrong or no message :-]
